For customers who have very important streams to monitor and want to be absolutely sure that they are up and running, the Advanced Content Availability Monitoring Service is perfect. Every stream is checked every 5 minutes and in the event a test fails, an unlimited number of contacts can receive alerts. You can even have multiple logon accounts, allowing another person access to the Control Panel to make changes or just view stream status. Advanced accounts include everything featured in the Intermediate account such as scheduling, XML status, groups and alert filters.
For additional troubleshooting, Advanced packages include the ability to automatically run a traceroute to the streaming server on failure. To help you recover from a stream failure as quickly as possible, Stream Alerts can call a URL on failure and trigger any tasks you want such as starting a backup encoder or switching your customers to another server. And for finer control over alerting, you can use your own SMTP server to handle alerts.
