Flash Audio and Video Monitoring Beta

FlashWe’re getting close to launching a new product that provides quality monitoring of Flash streams, but we need your help! Fill out our contact form and submit your Flash stream for testing. Preferably live streams, but we can also work with on-demand files as well.

Our Quality Monitoring includes features that none of our competitors offer! We monitor your stream for Audio Silence with the ability to notify you if the sound drops below a set threshold for a given period of time. We can also watch for Frozen Video and send you an alert if there are problems with your feed. We’ll also monitor your stream continuously 24/7 or on a cyclical basis if you prefer. So sign up for the beta today!

Finally, Internet in the Car

Chrysler announced that they are building Internet access into their vehicles starting this year. This means that users can now access your streams anytime they want! Read more at the Washington Post. Better make sure your stream is available.

Windows Media Encoder Startup Script

If you have a critical encoder streaming live audio for an Internet radio station or maybe video for a presentation then you want that encoder to be running all the time and you shouldn’t have to login and restart the encoder manually if the host computer loses power or reboots. The Windows Media Encoder has a wonderfully simple graphical user interface but unfortunately you cannot directly configure it as a service to run in the background when the host starts up. Fortunately Microsoft provides a command line script that you can use to start an encoding session on boot-up.
