We are please to roll out a big upgrade to our Payload Monitoring system that provides much more information to help you diagnose audio and video problems. We’re able to decode many more streams including Real, Quicktime, AAC and OGG feeds. You can view the current bitrate, buffer and playback times as well as current audio levels or video deviation. And we have graphs!

We’ve made a few small changes to the Control Panel to accomodate the new Payload upgrades. You can now see your stream’s Availability as percent of up-time and wer’e starting to use graphs. Follow the jump to find out what’s new.
To improve the range and quality of our Payload monitoring, we are testing out a new system that provides greater detail about your streams including the average audio level, video deviation and streamint bitrates. The new system can also decode Ogg Vorbis along with RTSP streams! Contact us for a trial of the new service.

As one customer said, "it’s time to get global!" Timezones are now implemented in the Control Panel so that alerts will show your local time and the website will be synchronized. Click the link for more information.
FireDaemon is a great program to run scripts and programs as a Windows Service so that you don’t have to logon the host and start them manually. It’s particularly useful over the basic Windows Task Scheduler in that it will gather standard output from the script you’re running so you can debug your scripts much easier. I’ll walk through an example of configuring a service to run a script such as a simple .BAT file that will start encoding an audio stream.
We are now proud to offer Content Payload Monitoring, notifying you if your audio goes silent or your video freezes for the ultimate confidence monitoring. Currently only Windows Media audio and/or video streams or Shoutcast MP3 streams are supported. Each Payload monitored stream includes Availability monitoring as well. We’re almost there! Now in beta we have frozen video and audio silence detection for your Windows Media and MP3 streams. You’re stream could be perfectly happy spitting out silent, empty content to your customers because the source feeding your media encoder has failed.
