Add a stream to be monitored?

Login to the Control Panel to access your streams.

  1. Select Streams from the Control Panel menu on the left.
  2. NOTE: Make sure that your account has room to add more streams. The top right of the Streams page will display the stream counter. The number on the left shows how many streams you currently have configured. The number on the right shows the maximum number of streams you can configure. In order to add a stream, the left number must be smaller than the right number. If the numbers are the same, then you will have to purchase more streams by modifying your account.
  3. If you are able to add a stream, you’ll see the Add Stream link towards the top of the page. Click on that link.
  4. You’ll be taken to a form where you enter all of your stream information including a title, description, the URL, stream type, and whether or not you want to enable it for monitoring. Click on the Control Panel Help button on the left for more information about what the fields mean. Also, be sure to click the URL Help link for detailed information about how to format your stream URL.
    Once you have finished filling out the form, click the Submit button.
  5. If your addition was successful, you will see a notice at the top of the page in green and you’ll see all of your stream information in the fields.
    If there was an error, you will see a red error message at the top of the page and more information about the error next to the field in which it occurred. Change the data and click the Submit button again.
  6. Note: Your stream will not be monitored for Availability until you add a node! In the Availability Monitoring Settings section, click the Add Node link.
  7. A small box will open up with an Enable check box and a Node selector. Choose the node you want to monitor the stream and then check the Enable box. Finally click Submit and the node should appear under the Availability Monitoring Settings section.

Now you can add a contact so that you will receive alerts when something goes wrong. Remember, you will not receive alerts until you add a contact!
