One of my streams is down and I haven’t received any alerts!

There are a number of things to check to find out why you aren’t receiving alerts.

Start by visiting the Alert Log and uncheck the "Show Sent Alerts Only" box. This will show any alerts that were not sent and you can click the magnifying glass to view detailed information about why the alert was not sent.

If you do not find any useful information in the log, check the spelling of the email addresses you have listed under Contacts in the Control Panel.

Next, make sure that at least one of your Contacts is Enabled in the Control Panel. If the box next to the contact’s name is in gray, then the contact will not receive alerts.

If you are using Stream Groups, make sure that the group to which the failed stream belongs has Alerting Enabled.

Then check to make sure the Contact you want to receive an alert belongs to that same Stream Group and also verify that the group is configured to send alerts.

For Advanced accounts, check to see if you have any Alert Filters that may be blocking the alerts.

If you have configured your own SMTP host, make sure the settings are correct under My Account and under the individual contacts.

Finally, check the spam filter or folder in your email client to make sure that an alert wasn’t blocked by your email provider. As a precautionary measure, you may want to add alerts@streamalerts.com to your safe senders or white list.
